The principal of Hormuud school in Puntland appeals for emergency help

The principal of Hormuud Primary and Intermediate  school in Gardo  town  in Puntland  Mr Faisal Gele Omar has sent an urgent  appeal to all organizations  to rescue Hormuud School .

The appeal comes a day after a heavy flood which engulfed the town has entirely submerged the school building , destroying most of the educational equipment at school.

The principal told the reporters that the students were due to sit for the final exams in this year for their third day before the flood happened and now the exams were suspended, which may take for a long period according to the scale of the damage,

Pointing out the urgent needs of the school  the principal said”    the school situated in flood zone   and  it needs to be relocated in safe place  very soon”

The school  operates in Gardo district in Puntland state of  Somalia ,  it’s syllabus  is based on English and  has more than 120 students  The school also provides adult classes which is a part of the school’s campaign to eliminate illiteracy

    Actually I am deeply sorry 4 what happen to Hormuud school with heavy flood inside the classes

    Please let’s help Hormuud school Immediately in order to save the future of our children
